The Lake Nokomis Lake District goals are to protect the
water quality of our reservoir. We will continue to fight any Aquatic Invasive
Species, or any other pollution sources that threaten our body of water. We
will also strive to rehabilitate any degrading conditions, and will always work
to keep our waters a clean and healthy place for all to enjoy the various
recreational opportunities that our reservoir offers.
Onterra LLC, our AIS control company has furnished us with a very nice report which outlines all of the Lake Districts' past, present and future efforts regarding AIS control. It is quite informative, with many color coded maps to help explain the various aspects of our efforts. This report may be accessed by going to the Committee Updates tab, above.
Clean Boats / Clean Waters Class
The first Clean Boats / Clean waters workshop will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 29th, at the Oneida County Courthouse in Rhinelander.
Attendees of this free course will be qualified to assist with our "Boat Landing, CB/CW, AIS Education" program. We will need 100 hours of volunteer service again this year to help us qualify for DNR grant money.
Anyone wishing to attend this workshop should contact Michele Saudauskas, our Onieda County AIS coordinator (715-369-7835) to register for the workshop and get specific details.
